Where We Work

 

New Hope Africa Children Ministries is situated in Busia, at the border of Uganda and Kenya. Uganda is a country with 25 million people with an average income of less than 1 USD per day.

Over 1 million people are infected with HIV/AIDS. 2 million children were orphaned or made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS. Although cultural and traditional expectations in Africa is that surviving members of family will take care of the orphans, the capacity of the extended family is being diminished due to poverty and increasing number of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC). The number of OVC involved make it practically impossible for the caregiver to provide adequate care and support to orphans. These children need help. They are in desperate need of food, money for school fees, drugs and clothing.

The most beautiful gift we can give to a child is to bring them to their heavenly father. In order to meet the spiritual needs of the children we care for;

New Hope partners with a local church (Busia Healing center) to provide spiritual and emotional healing. The church helps children to better understand biblical truth that God loves them, and have worth as Gods children, and can be in eternal relationship with god through Jesus Christ. We believe that children need to know that their lives have divine plan.
