VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED
New Hope has
many opportunities for mission groups, families, couples or singles that
are interested in serviing orphans and vulnerable children Africa.
There are
opportunities in all aspects of New Hope's operations. Anyone with a
desire and heart to reach out and serve children in Africa will find
exciting projects to bring God's love to these deserving people.
Your time and
skills will be put to great use, New Hope is open to whatever your
interests as you desire to support children in Uganda.
Most volunteers are between the ages of 18 and 30.
Volunteers may
be assigned to one assignment during their term of service. The New Hope
experience is not for everyone. It is reserved for those select few who
are willing to make personal sacrifices to serve children in need. New
Hope expects dedication and commitment from each volunteer. The
volunteer's role is to provide compassionate care directly to the
children. Volunteers are asked from time to time to assess the needs of
the institutions and ensure efficient utilization of resources for the
children's benefit.
Volunteers are
organized into teams, and given specific daily "child care" activities.
Duties will vary according to specific project objectives. Efforts will
be made to match volunteer's interests with project initiatives.
Volunteers
attend frequent planning meetings to insure quality outcomes
commensurate with their invested time and effort. Volunteers receive
on-the-job training and program support from the team leader. All
volunteers are encouraged to learn local customs, and languages.
New Hope
programs give careful consideration to each volunteer's needs while they
are serving at a project site. The safety and security of each New Hope
volunteer is paramount to the success of every project.
A
voluntee is expected to raise their own funds for tansport,
accomodationa nd upkeep for the period they stay with us.
Volunteers have access to Internet computers and phones in ourlocations.
Each volunteer will have sufficient time for religious worship, language
studies, and hobbies. Regularly scheduled social events provides a
welcome.
